Fish Oil and Cholesterol - How Are They Linked?

เขียนโดย ruengrit kumrintorn ที่ 12:25

It is a fact that fish oil supplements with omega-3 fatty acids are promoted in the media to reduce cholesterol levels effectively. Although it is true that are correlated to some extent, fish oil and cholesterol, there is no conclusive evidence that there is a direct relationship between them.

Instead of worrying too much about your cholesterol readings, you're better off focusing on the risk of heart disease that youis exposed. And fish oil supplements can certainly reduce that risk.

Let me explain what I mean.

As you probably know, there are two types of cholesterol, representing two opposing functions: one is the bad LDL and being responsible for the accumulation of plaque in the arteries and the other is HDL, exactly the opposite effect: removes the plaque of the arteries.

Well, you develop your risk of heart problems at any point in yourLife is directly proportional to the ratio of bad to good cholesterol. The higher the ratio, the higher the risk. Therefore, your risk of heart disease, only the number of LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol value alone), it is certainly bad practice.

Apart from cholesterol, your triglycerides levels also play an important role when it comes to estimating heart disease risk. If you do not know, triglycerides are fatty substances that circulate in the blood. Too much of it can clog yourArteries.

To make it even more complicated, there is an additional risk factor, which was recently identified by scientists. This is associated with the so-called C-reactive protein and is a measure of inflammation in the blood. Mind you, this protein has nothing to do with cholesterol.

In summary, the risk of heart disease is more complex than just taking your opinion based on cholesterol alone, with estimated figures. It is a combination of factors that interact with eachother.

Now, a more complete picture of the causes expressed by heart disease, you can better appreciate the wonderful qualities of fish oil (omega-3 fatty acids contained in it) to be exact, and how they contribute to the reduction of the relevant health risk data.

First, fish oil is a powerful anti-inflammatory, so it contribute to the risk from the C-reactive protein can.

Second, the omega-3 fatty acids to prevent clumping and Stickiness of the blood. Thus, the blood flow in the arteries can easily reduce the likelihood of heart attacks or strokes.

Another important property of fish oil is that it helps prevent plaque buildup in the arteries. Again, this is important when one considers that what really causes heart attacks, strokes and heart disease is usually the formation of plaques.

Finally, you should remember that contain omega-3 fatty acids in fish> Oil are excellent not only for your heart but also for your health in general.

But remember that not all fish oils are equal. You must be on what you use selective. Personally, I use the fish oil in New Zealand manufactured by a company called Xtend Life. Your product far superior to the competition.
