We Need A Good Source of Omega 3 Fish Oil

Omega-3 fish oil unanimously as healthy fats that are good for everyone, even those that are declared on a low fat diet. Doctors are increasingly recommending it for patients who suffer from a variety of diseases and the American Heart Association's new guidelines have stressed the importance of IT in the prevention and cure of a variety of cardiovascular problems highlighted.

The sources

Fatty fish like salmon, sardines and tuna are rich Sources of omega-3 fish oil. However, increasing water pollution is a disturbing factor, and eating too much fish can you put the risk of consumption of large amounts of mercury and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), toxins. Pharmaceutical grade fish oil supplements are also rich in omega-3 fish oil and are a good and safe alternative to eating oily fish that can contain contaminants. It should however be taken that>fish oil pills are only bought from established pharmacy companies as inferior quality fish oil pills tend to get rancid, causing a host of adverse health effects.

Pregnant women especially, have to be extra careful to limit the amount of fish they eat as the high mercury levels could be harmful for the unborn baby.

Raw fish can be particularly dangerous. Frequently indulging in eating different forms of raw seafood, including Sushi, you might be susceptible to the hepatitis A virus.

The advantages

Omega-3 fish oil is brain food than the miracle of the 21 Century, praised, and for good reason. A large part of the brain is combined of fats. Studies show consumption improves the development and memory functioning of the brain up to the age.

Fish oil contains eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which helps bothlower triglyceride levels, reduces inflammation and blood clotting, reducing the risk of cardiac arrhythmias and heart attack, lowers blood pressure levels and marginally slowed the formation of atherosclerotic plaques in the arteries. EPA and DHA also prevent the risk of stroke in patients with cardiovascular disease and helps to secondary disease. Research suggests that omega-3 fish oil has the potential to decrease platelet-derived growthfactor (PDGF), inhibits the occurrence of vascular adhesion molecules, reduce platelet aggregation and promote relaxation of the endothelial cells that lie within the walls of blood vessels.

The benefits are determined that a dose-dependent with higher doses have greater effects. While a daily dose as low as 2 grams have no positive impact of a higher dose of 4 grams per day can potentially lower the level of triglycerides by as much as 25 % to40%.

Precautions

People who are hypersensitive or allergic to fish should avoid fish and fish oil supplements. It is advisable to omega-3 fish oil only at recommended doses as high intake of omega-3 fatty acids can result in unwanted side effects, particularly at the high levels of methylmercury, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and dioxins.
